Ed Woodward to blame for the sorry state United are in

Football has, in the Warm-Up's opinion, been over-intellectualised in recent times. It is a pretty simple game over-complicated by a bunch of pseuds. So, the Warm-Up is going to take it right back and give you, dear reader, a concise summation of Manchester United: they are guff. Utterly guff. However their guffness is largely the fault of one man, and he is not called Jose Mourinho. Nope, step forward, Edward Gareth Woodward. At this point, let's be clear, Jose Mourinho needs absolutely no help turning his third season at a club toxic, but Edward has given him plenty help.
The shambles has played out in three acts:

1) not backing the manager in the summer, and pulling rank over player recruitment (even though there is no rank to pull)

2) undermining the manager by preparing a new contract to a player, Anthony Martial, who Mourinho wants rid of

3) indulging Paul Pogba's off-the-field commercial value to the point that the France superstar has been emboldened enough to openly question the authority of Mourinho.
